Killcare Beach, Killcare

For a day trip out of the city, head north to Killcare Beach, just on the outskirts of Bouddi National Park with a walking trail. Connected to Putty Beach, there is a kiosk to grab a bite to eat and there’s parking nearby. A section of the beach is marked off that is dog-friendly if you want to bring your furry friend along also!

Resolute Beach and West Head Beach, Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park

On the eastern side of Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park lies Resolute Beach and West Head Beach. About 10 minutes walking distance apart, these beaches promise picturesque views amidst the lush history and nature of the national park.

 

 

Whale Beach

Seek the shade or lay in the sun at Whale Beach. Whether you’re surfing or hanging out in the rock pool, make the trip to catch the sunrise or just to spend some time away from the city at this hidden beach. With plenty of cafés and restaurants nearby, you can make a day of it.

 

 

Turimetta Beach

Surf or sunbathe at Turimetta Beach in Warriewood. The rocky bordering cliffs make for a scenic getaway perfect for relaxing or going on a nice beach walk. Be aware that the current is strong, and the kilometre-long shore is not patrolled.

Collins Flat Beach and Store Beach, Sydney Harbour National Park

Look off into North Harbour from these two hidden beaches in Sydney Harbour National Park. Whether exploring Store Beach by kayak or rock jumping amidst nature at Collins Flat Beach, these two beaches offer secluded waters and scenic views.

Castle Rock Beach, Clontarf

Spend time at the hidden beach of Castle Rock, where you can enjoy the harbour views and, if you’re lucky, catch the ice cream boat that stops by. Located off the Castle Rock Track, you can also take a hike on the Manly to Spit Bridge walk and see other beaches along the way while also engaging in the history of the site.

Chinaman’s Beach, Mosman

Across the bay from Castle Rock Beach, enjoy the serenity of Chinamans Beach in Mosman. With Cobblers Bay in front of you and Rosherville Reserve behind, this is a great spot to spend your day with a view. Leashed dogs are allowed.

Milk Beach and Hermit Beach, Vaucluse

Catch the early morning calm or the stunning sunset views of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge at Milk Beach and Hermit Beach. With Hermit Beach being about 5 minutes from Milk Beach and even calmer, these beaches sit in line with each other near the Hermitage Foreshore Walk and Nielsen Park.
