King Island Distillery

Known for their small batch gin, which is distilled using native coastal ingredients, King Island Distillery is the best place for spirit-lovers. Founder and distiller, Heidi Weitjens, is passionate about her process, and the unique flavours available on King Island.

Each bottle of spirits is handcrafted on site, with other favourites including ruby grapefruit vodka and limoncello. The distillery also runs several engaging experiences, including a cocktail making class and a guided spirits tasting personally led by Heidi.

King Island Dairy Cheese Store

The fertile soil and cool temperatures of King Island make it the perfect place to produce dairy and cheese products like no other. At this store, all cheese is made on the island using 100 percent local milk. The cheesemakers draw on traditional practices of cheese making, and many products are turned and wrapped by hand.

These delicious, creamy cheeses are then shipped off across the Bass Strait to the mainland, but not before stocking up the island store. A true cheese lover’s paradise, the store is packed with bries and cheddars, carefully paired with a selection of beers and wines. Here, they also sell cheese boards, knives and coolers, so you can prepare to entertain guests at home too.

King Island Brewhouse

King Island Brewhouse is a locally owned and operated brewery that produces several delicious craft beers, as well as ciders and other fermented drinks. The distribution is limited, with most drinks sold only on the island. Three Blind Mice is a strong pale ale popular with locals, although that’s only the beginning of their fantastic collection.

In the family-friendly taproom, you can sign up for a tour or tasting. And on Friday nights, the place is transformed by the smell of delicious wood-fired pizzas as people crowd in for a feed.
