Bluey’s World brings the international sensation to life

Bluey’s World is scheduled to open in Brisbane next month, with fans from every corner of the globe excited to glimpse inside the home of this animated sensation.

The Bluey’s World guided experience takes place within an immersive 4000sqm set, offering families the chance to visit the iconic Heeler home, backyard, and other important locations from the series.

The experience begins as visitors step through the front door of Bluey’s home, where they are tasked with saving Bluey and Bingo from the evil Unicorse, who has captured and frozen the siblings. Teaming up with some familiar faces, families will have to work together to find these iconic characters and unfreeze them, with plenty of fun along the way.

Fans have been given a first look at the upcoming Bluey’s World.

Kate O’Connor, Director Brands and Licensing at BBC Studios ANZ said, “Bluey’s World is the place to come for a fun-filled immersive adventure through the Heeler’s home and beyond. With every detail meticulously brought to life on a large scale, plus a fantastic range of exclusive merchandise at Alfie’s Gift Shop, there is something to excite every Bluey fan!”

The world has been designed in collaboration with the creator of Bluey, Joe Brymm, as well as the team from Ludo Studio, meaning the magic and excitement of the show will be translated into the entire Bluey’s World experience.

Producer of Bluey’s World, Andrew Kay, stated “We’ve poured out hearts into every detail of Bluey’s World to truly immerse fans in Bluey’s playful universe. From the vibrant furnishings to the interactive play areas, we’ve created a space where friends and families can step right into the fun that Bluey is all about.”

Bluey’s World was first announced in December last year.

A global phenomenon

Since first airing in 2018, Bluey has skyrocketed into the ABC’s most successful show ever. In 2023, Nielsen ratings revealed that it was the second most streamed TV show in the United States. This resulted in 43.9 billion minutes of Bluey being watched around the world, and an impressive list of awards including 3 Emmys, 5 AACTAs, 2 Logies and a BAFTA.

The studio behind the hit show employs more than 50 designers, artists, directors, animators and producers to develop each episode, bringing to life the wonderful adventures of the Heeler family.

And it’s easy to see why the studio has such a dedicated team. A survey from the Australian Children’s Television Cultures (ACTC) found that Bluey was the show that parents were most excited to watch with their kids, thanks to its unapologetically Australian setting, light-hearted humour, and universal family themes.

Drawing an audience from over 60 different countries, Bluey continues to delight with its cheerful look at suburban life, from the perspective of blue heelers living in Brisbane. Thanks to this meteoric success, the opening of the new Bluey’s World in Queensland has already been met with overwhelming demand. The season, which begins on 7 November, has been extended until September 2025. There is even going to be a ‘blue carpet’ opening on 12 November this year.

CEO Tourism and Events Queensland, Patrica O’Callaghan, said “Bluey is a global superstar and has caught the attention of the world, with fans excited to come and explore Bluey’s hometown. There is no doubt visitors to Bluey’s World will be wowed by this incredible, interactive experience that is just like walking onto the set of Bluey

“We’re inviting families and fans of Bluey to extend their visit and come and play in Brisbane and more broadly, explore right around Queensland and enjoy the local lifestyle.”
