Finding a place to enjoy a relaxing drink with mates can be hard if you want to bring your furry friend along too.
Lucky for you, we’ve pulled together a list of the best dog-friendly breweries and bars in Hobart so you and your pup can enjoy the tastes of Tassie together.

Cascade Brewery
Cascade Brewery is Australia’s oldest brewery, and has been in operation since 1824. In fact, Tasmania’s best selling beer is the Cascade Draught, which can be sampled in the dog-friendly beer garden.
On a brewery tour, visitors can learn about the ingredients and processes that go into making beer, with access to the brewery worksite and a tasting to finish. But even if you’re not joining a tour, the beautiful setting and gardens are well worth exploring with your furry friend, before sitting down to enjoy a refreshing beer or cider, paired with classic pub snacks. On Sunday nights, the garden even hosts live jazz musicians for hours of incredible music.
Shambles Brewery
Shambles Brewery is an elegant and modern brewpub situated in a renovated warehouse. The Taproom is open from Wednesday to Sunday, with beer brewed on site for all to enjoy. Sample the Summer Ale, designed for relaxing after a long day with its easy-drinking feel, or the Robust Porter for a dark, smooth and velvety taste. Of course, there’s also an amazing food menu, with standouts such as fried chicken, smoked lamb wraps, bowls, burgers and bao buns.
The beer garden is completely dog friendly, and the staff here will even bring your pooch a water bowl for a drink of their own. Every Friday night, enjoy live music from vinyl DJs, or stop by for trivia on Tuesdays.

Boodle Beasley
Situated in a heritage listed building on Elizabeth Street, Boodle Beasley has transformed from a hardware store to an Italian restaurant, before settling down as a wildly popular bar. With three cocktail bars and a great food menu on offer, there’s something for all tastes.
The pet-friendly venue is an ideal place to bring your furry friend when hanging out with mates. The menu includes bao buns, burgers, soups and salads, and the drinks list is extensive. From local breweries to international spirits, they’ve got it all…and more.

Hobart Brewing Co
What began as a conversation over a pint in 2014 has grown into one of the most recognised beer brands in Tasmania. At the Hobart Brewing Co, beer is the name of the game. From a refreshing and light cream ale, to a crisp and malty amber ale, the range of locally brewed beers is out of this world.
At the taproom, you and your dogs are invited to relax in Hobart’s biggest beer garden, surrounded by greenery, pool tables, a roaring fire pit and local food trucks. There are more than 13 taps pouring all of Hobart Brewing Co’s beers, as well as an extensive range of wines and spirits.

The Albert Brewery
Using cold fermentation and natural conditioning, The Albert Brewery focuses on creating authentic larger beers with traditional techniques. What results is a clean, balanced and refreshing taste you just can’t beat.
At the 30 hecolitre production brewery, you can make use of the taproom and kitchen to catch up with mates and drink the best beer. The European-inspired food menu is designed to match the lagers, with flatbreads, currywurst and pork schnitzel. Pups will love the outdoor area, with greenery and good vibes all day long.

Wobbly Boot Vineyard
While not technically a bar, we couldn’t wrap up this list without Wobbly Boot Vineyard. Just 35 km north of Hobart, it is known for its ethical approach to winemaking. The team uses only natural and regenerative farming practices, producing a wide range of drops including Pinot Noir, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc.
While they are only open for functions and events, the stunning grounds make this venue a must-visit. DIY pizza making parties are run regularly, where visitors are invited to use the wood fired pizza oven after a lesson on how to make delicious pizza.
Wobbly Boot Vineyard is extremely dog friendly, with three off lead areas for your pooch to enjoy while you sip on a glass of wine. Wine and Woofs is an event run regularly throughout the year, where dog lovers gather to enjoy wine, food and music for a good cause. Of course, your pup is invited to come along to make heaps of new friends as well.
