Mountain views and wildlife at BullerRoo Luxury Farmstay

At BullerRoo Luxury Farmstay in the town of Mansfield in Victorian High Country it’s all about native wildlife, cute farm animals and sweeping mountain views that’ll take your breath away.

The 24-acre pygmy goat stud farm has two distinct accommodation offerings: BullerRoo Luxury Chalet takes inspiration from a modern alpine lodge, with open-plan living, and oversized fireplace and panoramic views across the Barwite Valley. Think big leather couches and cow-hide throws before an open fire place.

Stone Creek Cottage provides a more traditional experience, with three bedrooms, locally sourced stone and timber, established gardens and space for up to six guests.

Pygmy goats, alpacas, kangaroos and native birds can all be seen around the property.

Being 15 minutes from Mansfield and at the base of Mount Buller, it’s an ideal place to relax and then you can spend the days skiing, hiking, cycling and exploring the region’s wineries and country towns.

The chalet is ideal for couples and smaller groups seeking something polished, while the cottage offers a comfortable option for families and friends travelling together.

Quirky and delightful Pillows + Jam, near The Grampians

Pillows + Jam brings a playful sense of character to the traditional country escape. Housed on a fifth-generation sheep farm overlooking Mount Langi Hiran, the farmhouse includes three individually styled queen bedrooms.

Each room has its own special jam-inspired theme – there’s the Raspberry Jam Room, the Blackberry Jam Room, and the Pear Jam Room – and is fitted with luxury linen and blackout blinds for those after a big sleep-in with no distractions.

Guests also have access to a fully equipped farmhouse kitchen and the surrounding garden has an outdoor fire-pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs that are perfect for kicking back and taking in the views and fresh country air.

Just ten minutes from the bustling city of Ararat and at the base of the Grampians National Park, it’s a peaceful place to base yourself while exploring nearby wine country.

Sleeping up to six guests, Pillows + Jam works well for couples travelling together, families or small groups seeking a relaxed farm stay with lots of personality.

Mount William Station – an historic homestead

Step back in time inside an elegant and impeccably restored 7,500-acre pastoral property that was built in 1842 on a five-acre english garden in Willaura – a small agricultural town near Ararat and the Grampians National Park.

Mount William Station is a remarkable property with a main Homestead that sleeps up to 18 people, and a Shearers’ Quarters that sleeps up to 17 people.

The Homestead is contemporary and luxurious, with the original architectural details lovingly preserved. Guests can book one of the homestead’s suites, or large groups can all stay in the six grand bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, surrounded by the stunning gardens complete with a pool.

Guests also enjoy a superb three-course dinner and farmhouse-style breakfast, and all produce is from the estate’s gardens, or locally sourced from a range of sustainably minded producers.

Since 1869, The Shearers’ Quarters was home to Mount William Station’s extended family of shearers and station workers. Today it has also been beautifully renovated and has eight rustic bedrooms (a master suite and seven shearers’ rooms), three shared bathrooms, a spacious kitchen and living room, a sun-soaked courtyard, and an outdoor BBQ area with a fire pit. It’s perfect for a fun getaway with a group.

Privacy, peace and farmland views for couples at Fellcroft Farmstay

Fellcroft Farmstay is a couples-only farmstay retreat on a working farm in Victoria’s Macedon Ranges, that has been home to six generations of the Crozier family. Today the farm focuses on the ethical production of premium lamb and beef.

The main Crozier homestead was built in 1862 by Andrew and Mary Crozier, and today guests can stay in one of two purpose-built quarters – Kingfisher and Wren.

Wren is a calming light-filled cottage decorated with soft hues of pink, grey and with perfectly framed views of the surrounding environment, including a spa with a view. Kingfisher is more like a cottage in the English Cotswolds, with the green and grey decor making it feel relaxed yet sophisticated. Both have French doors opening onto private decks overlooking the surrounding countryside.

The property has views towards Mount Macedon, Hanging Rock and Camel’s Hump, with plenty of bushland walks nearby. Guests are also within easy reach of local wineries, restaurants and small country towns. Reserved for adults.
