Watson’s Bay Hotel unveils massive $3 million renovation

Watson's Bay Hotel has unveiled its $3 million renovation, including luxury event spaces and an all-new summer menu.

Watson’s Bay Hotel has officially reopened after an extensive $3 million renovation.

The luxury beachside hotel began the work back in April, redesigning the top and middle decks of the 190-year-old venue into a Hamptons-inspired waterfront space.

The Top Deck was completely demolished and rebuilt into a multi-purpose bar and event space. Now, the area features wrap-around bifold windows and a brand new dry bar lined with high stools. The Top Deck boasts a capacity of 150 seated guests, meaning it is an ideal space for weddings and other special events. A dedicated internal entrance and direct bathroom access have been introduced for this purpose.

The Mid Deck now features banquette seating, which runs all the way to the edge of the beer garden, while the front boasts surfboard-style picnic tables. This deck channels the heart of Watsons Bay with its coastal and vintage aesthetic, yet also radiates elevated elegance.

The Sunset Room & Bar also received a refurbish, with a redesigned bar, flooring and bathrooms that draw inspiration from a Hamptons estate. The coastal blues and dark harbour tones combine with oversized sculptural lighting to transport you to the beach clubs of Europe, while delivering panoramic views of Australian seas.

Dining at Watson’s Bay Hotel has also been enhanced, with Head Chef Damian Heads crafting a brand new summer menu inspired by Sydney coastal cuisine. Think top-quality seafood including sashimi tuna tostadas and grilled split king prawns, as well as all the pub classics.

Once a month, the Top Deck will host Club Amalfi, a waterfront beach club experience featuring Mediterranean-inspired share plates and a European beach-club vibe.
