Read on to learn about the best parks in Canberra for you and your pup to get some fresh air.

Belconnen Dog Park

Right along Lake Ginninderra sits the Belconnen Dog Park, the perfect place for your pooch to enjoy some off-leash fun. This beautiful park is covered by tall eucalyptus plants and exotic trees, making it an ample place for your dog to run free while you relax with a good book! A beach is also located at the end of the trail, so you can dip your feet in while your dog enjoys a refreshing swim.

Casey Dog Park

The Casey Dog Park is the next dog park located in the city of Casey. This medium sized ground has two parks for your pup to run around. The terrain is not very grassy, so your dog may end up muddy after digging holes. There’s also various spots that have water bowls for your furry friend to cool down and have a drink.

Duffy Dog Park

Duffy Dog Park is Canberra’s newest dog park! With spacious sections for your dog to run around, as well as various water bowls and benches, this spot is ideal for any small or large dog.

O’Connor Dog Park

O’Connor Dog Park is another blissful park that allows you to enjoy a scenic view while playing with your pup! It features two large sections, one for big dogs and another for smaller dogs. The park features tall, shaded trees, mature eucalyptus, and plenty of benches so you can sit and relax!

Tuggeranong Dog Park

With stunning views looking over Lake Tuggeranong, neither you nor your pup will want to leave Tuggeranong Dog Park! Take your pup for a stroll by the water, or let him run free in one of two segregated enclosures. Featuring lots of grassy areas and sky-high trees that provide shade, this picturesque ground is ideal for letting your dog run around and get some exercise!

Yarralumla Dog Park

Located directly next to the Westbourne Woods, Yarralumla Dog Park is another spacious park with scenic views. Take your pup on a stroll through one of the paved paths in the area, or let them run wild through the winding trees in the park. Enjoy endless opportunities for fun at this dog park, but don’t forget to take your dog swimming in Lake Burley Griffin afterward!

Yass Dog Park

One of the largest dog parks in Canberra, Yass Dog Park is located just near the Yass river. The park features three plots of land to use, each one for dogs of various sizes. Let your dog run through the shaded park with some furry friends, or take them on the paved footpaths adjacent to the river. End your visit at the Thyme to Taste cafe, a small coffee shop and deli with an outdoor courtyard that’s dog-friendly!

Forde Park

Forde park is one of the smaller dog parks in Canberra, equipped with just one dog park for all dogs to share. This area has a large range of agility equipment for your dog to play with, including various hoops, hurdles, and pipes. The size of the park, however, should be taken into consideration, as many small dogs might feel intimidated by large, assertive dogs.
